It’s Spring in Nova Scotia, which means, this year at least, RDFW – rain, drizzle, fog and wind. Which means the drone is often/will often be grounded.
The sun did break through for a few glorious moments on Thursday, the 11th though, and still trying to learn how to fly, I took the drone down to nearby Scott Saunders Memorial Park & Papermill Lake.
I had been watching many YouTube videos, and hoped to do an “orbit” of the dam. While I did do something similar, it wasn’t quite what I had in mind, mostly because I’ve watched so many things, in my brain I combined multiple that didn’t need to be!
All that said, if nothing else, I think the video captures how clearly (after the washed out flying into the sun beginning) the DJI Mini 4 Pro can capture content.
Very happy how this came out. I used the Return to Home feature at the end to try that out at well, and left that in as I thought the view over Bedford Basin was kind of worth it.
I’ll definitely be back here, and while I may not be able to get footage of the other side of the dam as there are too many obstructions, I think I can do much better too.
Just got my hands on a drone, and let me tell you, it's awesome (and way trickier than it looks!). I'm here to document my adventures in the sky, share epic aerial photos and videos (hopefully!), and learn alongside all you other drone newbies. We'll explore the coolest accessories, tackle those inevitable challenges (read: crash landings!), and figure out all the pitfalls together. Buckle up for some wobbly flights, stunning scenery, and maybe a few laughs along the way!
